Both my girls are very tall and skinny which is why I have a hard time finding jeans that fit them. Usually by the time the jeans fit in the waist, they are too short for their legs! Which is why I love Belle Bottoms!

Belle Bottoms are the fun and easy way to enhance your pants! Whether you want to add length or just want a cute new look, Belle Bottoms are easy to iron on and made to last. Belle bottoms are specially made with an industrial strength, heat-fusible bonding tape that is specifically designed to PERMANENTLY fuse the material to woven material pants, such as denim and twill.

Once the heat is applied there is no removing it, so check and recheck your placement before you permanently apply the fabric. I’ll have to admit I was a bit concerned with the applying process at first, but I was very impressed with the end result. This is an easy project to complete even if you’re not the crafty type! Trust me!

I knew immediately which jeans I was going to use. Natalie has a pair of jeans that are size 12 months and they have never fit her well. We got them as hand-me-downs but I’ve always thought they were super cute which is why I hated that she never got to wear them! Even though she will be 3 in less than 2 months, they are just now beginning to fit her in the waist. But of course, they are now way to short for her, so I was excited to try out the Belle Bottoms on them!

I started out by first removing the seam from the cuff of the pants. (Something I had never done before.) It was a very simple process, and I also trimmed the end of the jeans for a smoother seal.

Then you simply wrap the fabric around each pants leg so the belle bottom circumference exactly matches the pant leg circumference. At this point you are not joining the belle bottom to the pant leg yet. You are just creating a cylinder so you can cut off the excess fabric from the inside.

Once you have your cylinders, then it’s time to attach the belle bottoms to the pants! Place the belle bottoms cylinder back onto the pant leg and iron-on only the top section of the fabric. This is the tricky part. You must make sure everything is straight and flat and EXACTLY where you want it. Once you iron-on the belle bottoms, there is no removing it!

I actually messed this part up just a little bit. My cylinders were slightly larger than my pant leg circumference so when I ironed it on, the excess bunched up and sticks out a tiny bit. Luckily, I ironed down the seam part last so it’s hidden by the seam and isn’t noticeable.

At this point, you’re pretty much finished. Just flip the pants inside out, turn up the bottom edge, and iron it down! It is very important to match the placement of the 2nd belle bottoms to the placement of the 1st belle bottoms so they will be even on the pants. I was also a little off on that part (one pants leg is a little longer) but again, it isn’t noticeable.
