Our 4 year wedding anniversary was on 11/11/2012 – the day we left for our cruise! My husband and I try to take a special anniversary getaway every year! We both believe it’s important to take times for ourselves and it always seems to bring us closer together.

We decided to do a Carnival Cruise, mainly because it was so cheap. But we really had nothing else to compare it to. (Next time I would like to take Royal Caribbean cruise.)

Our cruise ship left on Sunday (our anniversary) but we drove down from Georgia to Orlando, FL the day before and stayed in a hotel there. Then on Sunday we drove about an hour over to Port Canaveral, where we boarded the ship.

We made two stops –  Freeport, Bahamas & Nassau, Bahamas. The Bahamas is one of the world’s most popular cruise ship ports – one million travelers board cruises to Nassau annually.

Nassau was a beautiful island and much cleaner than Freeport. Neither one of us had ever been on a cruise before and the rates this time of year are really cheap ($650 for both of us) so it was an ideal vacation! We ended up spending around $1400 total – not bad for a 5 day vacation and a trip to the Bahamas!

We had a great time! Besides all the fun stuff to do in the Bahamas, the ship was full of fun activities; comedy shows, night clubs, the casino, and I even won a $150 necklace in a raffle!

I took about 800 pictures on our 4 day cruise so I decided to break it down into two parts. Come back next week for more photos! >>Part 2<<
