Nuclear Cowboyz Freestyle Motocross Pictures #ATLNukes

This weekend we went with some friends to see the Nuclear Cowboyz at The Arena at Gwinnett Center! It’s a family friendly show but we decided to leave the babies at home and have a date night without them.

My 4 year old probably would’ve enjoyed seeing the motorcycles but I’m sure my youngest would’ve been scared of all the fireworks. It was very loud and smoky.

McDonald’s New Quarter Pounders and Local Store Opening #myQPflavor

If you’re anything like me, then you probably have a go-to meal whenever you order out. You know exactly what number you’re going to order before you even get there.

Since I’ve been working with McDonald’s, I’ve had the opportunity to try out new foods that I otherwise probably never would’ve even considered. Some weren’t my favorite, and others I fell in love with, like the new Premium McWraps. (Seriously, I love those things.) And now I have a new favorite burger!

QPB_FULL.jpg

McDonald’s is adding variety to its Quarter Pounder offering with three new Quarter Pounder flavors for every personality, including:

  • Bacon & Cheese
  • Habanero Ranch
  • The Deluxe

QP

The Habanero Ranch sounds really spicy but it actually has a delicious kick to it, without being to hot! I was really surprised, especially since I’m not a fan of spicy food. The Bacon & Cheese is probably my favorite of the trio.

The new Quarter Pounders come with all new thick cut Applewood smoked bacon. The bacon is thicker, better bacon and tastes great with all three of the Quarter Pounder flavors.

Interview with Owner Bob Swoszowski #McDonalds

©IMG_2452_EDIT

I recently had lunch with Bob Swoszowski, the owner/operator of 11 McDonald’s locations right here in North Georgia. With 40 years of experience (and a radiating personality) I can see why he’s so successful.

Bob purchased his first store with a partner in 1973 and has been striving to provide excellent service to consumers ever since! He said one of his favorite parts of his job is grading stores “white gloves and stopwatch style”. He makes unexpected visits to make sure each of his stores are providing quality food and prompt service. I had no idea they actually timed service or that each store can have up to 3 visits a month to check quality control.

It was really neat being able to see behind-the-scenes. I even learned the secret behind the oh so delicious McDonald’s Sweet Tea, but if I told you, I’d obviously have to kill you. ;)

I also found out McDonald’s is planning to bring back an old favorite this July – Mighty Wings! Which is one of Bob’s favorites, along with the new Quarter Pounder Burgers and the Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie which is the newest addition to the McCafé Smoothie line!

Stop by the sampling truck outside the McDonald’s store on Peachtree during the July 4th Peachtree Road Race for a free sample of the new Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie.

Blueberry Pomegranate

I was surprised at how good the new Bacon Habanero Ranch Quarter Pounder was. I probably never would’ve ordered it because it sounds spicy, but it had the perfect amount of kick to it! I tried to snap you a picture before I devoured the whole thing.

It’s very clear that Bob Swoszowski is focused on education and he even has an Employee Scholarship Program! Every employee that works at least 20 hours per week gets a $500 scholarship per year and as long as they are actively enrolled in school, no matter what their grades, they will reimburse them for the cost of books!

Bob even said he doesn’t mind losing employees when they are moving on to bigger and better things. In fact, he encourages it and wants to help better our youth. Our youth is the key to our future! He’s a smart man!

If you’re an Atlanta reader, please be sure to enter to win some free McDonald’s fries! The giveaway ends tonight at midnight!

Ultimate Blog Party 2013

I know many of you from the Blog Party have lots of new blogs to visit so I’ll try to make this quick and painless! I’m a 25 year old stay-at-home mom of two sweet girls – ages 2 and 3! I started blogging in June 2009 while pregnant with my oldest daughter, Natalie.

Then in April 2010 (right before I got pregnant with Haley), I launched “Marvelous Mommy” which was named by my sweet husband! I never thought I would have two daughters so close in age, and I wouldn’t change it for the world!

I enjoy perfecting my photography skills, baking yummy treats with my girls, fun crafts, and DIY projects! We just bought our first house at the end of February!

Top 5 Free Places To Take Kids

Top 5 Free Places To Take Kids

1. The Library

Libraries usually offer a fun kiddie section with toys and games and other events for children such as Story Telling Time. And even if you don’t attend the special events, the library is still a lot of fun just checking out new books and/or movies. It also gives them the opportunity to make new friends!

2. Pet Store

The pet store is basically like a zoo for younger kids! And it’s free! It’s like taking a trip to the zoo and the aquarium all at the same time! Stop by for a visit, your kids will love it.

3. The Park

There are endless possibilities for fun at the park! If you’ve been to the same ol’ park a million times try out a new area you’ve never been to before! Also consider bringing along some fun items such as bubbles, chalk, or a magnifying glass!

4. Find a local event

Schools tend to be a great source for free or cheap activities like kids plays, talent shows, carnivals etc. Sometimes art museums and stores like Michaels have arts and crafts for younger kids. Look online for a local calendar of events.

5. McDonald’s Playhouse

Indoor playgrounds are always a hit with my kiddos! And although they are free to play on, I doubt you’ll get out of there without getting at least a milkshake! Lucky for you the dollar menu will keep your lunch outing at a very low cost! Did you know there are 14 dollar items on the McDonald’s menu?! Including the Grilled Onion Cheddar Burger, sweet tea (my personal fave), and something your kids will love, ice cream!

*April 5-8: Customers who purchase a large soft drink at any Greater Atlanta McDonald’s restaurant will receive half-price admission to the Bracket Town fan experience at the Georgia World Congress Center from April 5-April 8. Bracket Town attendees can additionally visit the McDonald’s Slam Dunk area, where they can lay down their best dunks, win prizes, get autographs from NCAA legends and more!

Bonus: BabyLand General Hospital

BabyLand is located in Cleveland, GA. It is the only place in the world where you can witness the birth of a Cabbage Patch Kid and was voted one of the Travel Channel’s Top Ten Toylands! So if you are lucky enough to live in the great state of Georgia then you must visit BabyLand! It’s free to get in and there are live Cabbage Patch Kid “births” beneath the branches of the Magic Crystal Tree about every 15 minutes! Here’s a few pictures from our recent visit!

We went to Disney on Ice this time last year for the Dare to Dream show! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you’re going to spend money on any type of show, Disney On Ice is the way to go! Every show is different so there’s always something new to see no matter how many times you’ve been.

It’s amazing what a difference a year makes! Natalie has gotten so much bigger and I’ve lost SO much weight! Haley is just about the same age that Natalie was last year when we went. I was concerned about how Haley would do since we initially didn’t plan on bringing her and she didn’t have much of a nap but I kept her entertained with Coke and our ticket stubs!

DOI Haley Collage

The show was really amazing! It was mostly skits with singing and dancing but there were also jaw-dropping ice skating tricks and astonishing acrobatic air stunts!

The show lasted about 2 hours although we left a little bit early due to sleepy babies. They typically go to bed between 8-9pm so by 9pm they were both pretty fidgety. Overall Natalie thoroughly enjoyed it and I plan to take them again next year!
