My oldest just turned seven, and she is completely obsessed with Minecraft. She really wanted a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese’s and really, REALLY wanted me to make a Minecraft cake.

I have made a few cakes for my girls’ birthdays in the past. My very first fondant cake was a Mickey Mouse cake for my daughter’s 2nd birthday.

Making fondant:

I have made marshmallow fondant many times. I always use the same marshmallow fondant Wilton recipe. I recommend making your fondant about 3 days ahead of time so it has time to rest. Store it in a ziplock bag and keep it in the fridge. (more…)
