Whether you set New Year’s resolutions or not, I think it’s important to set goals for yourself.
One of my goals this year is to get organized! Now that we have lived in our new house for a little while I need to come up with a better system and I also want to organize our finances, our menu plan routine, and household chores!
My husband and I have discussed setting a budget so many times, but failed to do anything about it!
Until NOW!
This year, I’m starting the Family Planner Binder. Our binder includes
- Daily To-Do’s
- Blog Tracking
- Weekly Cleaning Checklists
- Monthly Budget
- Home Inventory
- Home Projects
- Bill Pay Checklist
- Passwords
- And even a Gifts List section
Come up with a plan!
If the binder works for you, you’ll need to figure out which forms work best for you and a game-plan for how you’re going to achieve it.
Do something that works for you!
For us, keeping our finances separate and on different cards (accounts) helps us keep up with how much we are spending on our budget categories.
Keep it simple!
If it’s too hard to follow or keep up with, it won’t happen. Plan it out and make it easy to achieve it.
Do it together!
You need to come up with a budget with your spouse and decided what works best for the family as a whole.
Take Action!
Do it now! Don’t wait or it’ll never happen! Print these forms now or at least PIN them for future reference. And by future, I mean tomorrow!
I’m a list maker anyways. I usually start the day with a to-do list, although it’s usually written on a scrap piece of paper or old envelope, and it usually gets lost by the next day. Now I have a binder with my to-do’s at the very front.
I also have my weekly blog post calendar there for a quick reference. I work better I write things down with a pen and paper, opposed to tracking them online.
